Japanese paper lighting
Celine Wright is a very talented designer of lighting mainly made of Japanese paper. Handmade work is the only non-polluting human energy, says Celine Wright. All the lighting fixtures of this designer are hand made, using ancestral techniques. The materials used are natural and non-polluting. The manufacture of a luminaire requires different types of very specific manipulations. This is how Céline Wright created an impressive network of people working from home on the English model called Cottage Industry. Each luminaire is unique. Molded and structured by hand, a shell of the cocoon range can consist of more than 1600 paper strips, individually glued in a mold. Achieving a single luminaire may require 7 hours of work, says the designer. The cocoon is strong, fire resistant and diffuses a soft and soothing light. Céline Wright luminaires are designed to produce mood lighting that complements the light produced by other lamps.
