The five candles on two levels of this Louis XVI style solid bronze candlestick offer this candlestick an elegant majesty. Its old gold finish gives the fluted decor of its body, relief and depth. Its flared foot, partly covered with acanthus leaves, ends in a brilliant circle edged with necklaces of fine pearls. Its upper part is finished by a flared and beaded basin bearing an elegantly fluted bobeche and its candle. From its base, four double-volute arms adorned with curved foliage, ending in basins and bobettes carrying candles, identical to that described previously. Its size and design gives it a royal presence. This candlestick will illuminate with strength and grace a centerpiece. The detail and the quality of its decoration and its manufacture are exceptional. They are the result of the work of the French craftsmen of the Lucien Gau workshops, which have passed on their know-how for six generations. This candle holder can be electrified or not. It exists in a version with three candles visible under the reference 16060050 or, still three candles adorned with a shade under the reference 16060051.

Lucien Gau

Sublime classic style lighting, solid bronze and bohemian crystal

Founded in 1934, the company Lucien Gau is one of the most renowned French manufacturer of prestige lighting. Lucien Gau draws and manufactures in particular an exceptional range of chandelier, sconces and candlesticks of Dutch styles, Louis XIII, Louis XIV, Louis XV, Louis XVI, Directory, Empire and Restoration. The manufacture, of an exceptional quality, is entirely carried out in France. The craftsmen employed by Lucien Gau work, finish, assemble and apply a patina on solid bronze according to the most traditional methods, inherited from a long tradition of excellence. The bronzes are cast in a traditional way: for each model, the craftsmen sculpt the pieces of a luminaire, a reference copy. For each copy made from this model, a sand mold is made, in which cast bronze is poured. Broken during demolding, the mold is used only once. This process provides a unique finesse, and allows great freedom of drawing. Cooled then demolded, each piece undergoes a long finishing work: deburring, turning, chiselling of fine ornamental motifs, polishing and patina application are entirely done by hand, and require a unique know-how. The most frequently used patinas are old gold, matt tin, bright gold and antique. In Lucien Gau's collections, there are luminaries of great elegance and balance of form. Masterful chandelier or discreet applique, each model has the same quality of manufacture. Lucien Gau has made the lighting of many exceptional buildings, castles, ministries and palaces, all over the world. Really Beautiful is proud to be able to present you such a collection of luminaries, with exemplary design and quality.
