Inspired by Serge Mouille's famous 1950s lamps, the Charlton floor lamp in black metal with gold details has an articulated arm and an asymmetrical adjustable shade. Charlton has a round antique brass base, a black metal foot and an articulated arm with 3 ball joints, also in antique brass. The black metal shade is characteristic of the period. Note the details of the shade, which is pierced with a series of small holes to let the light through. The antique brass finish is achieved by rubbing the metal by hand to create the characteristic golden patina. The Charlton's articulated arm makes it a versatile and adaptable floor lamp, which can be used as a direct light or, for example, as an indirect light when directed towards the wall.
This lamp was designed by AERIN, Estée Lauder's granddaughter, who has created a world of Hamptons chic and elegance with Mediterranean influences. Founded in 1987, the American brand Visual Comfort offers a wide range of contemporary and traditional lamps made from high quality materials.
The model is also available in white and gold under the reference 23050017. The collection also includes a wall light available in black, gold or white under the references 23050030, 23050031 and 23050032.
Dimensions: height between 129cm and 160cm, 30cm diameter base.
The light source comes from a 60W max E27 bulb, or LED equivalent, to be purchased separately.

High-end lighting in classic contemporary styles by leading designers

The brand was officially launched in Houston, Texas in 1987 and quickly established itself as a different kind of lighting designer. Andy Singer, a former lighting salesman and the man behind the brand, didn't want to play the role of a distributor when the brand was conceived. Collection after collection, Visual Comfort & Co. has taken its rightful place in the world of high-end lighting. The first collaboration took place in 1996 with the design firm Chapman & Myers, who created the brand's visual identity. Myers' penchant for contemporary style and Chapman's more classically inspired approach resulted in a comprehensive collection of pendants and wall lights to appeal to a wide market. Today, 26 designers, including Aerin Lauder, granddaughter of Esthée Lauder, renowned interior designer Kelly Wearstler and the late Kate Spade, embody the Visual Comfort style.
