There is something both classic and contemporary about the design of the chandeliers in the Saint Germain series, in this case the 5-light chandelier in blue Venetian crystal, gold-finished metal and black cylindrical shades. The model is a star whose 5 branches are the right-angled arms, in the form of blue crystal tubes, on which are perched the black cylindrical shades that channel the light. Each arm is fitted with a stylised bowl-shaped basin in clear crystal and a gilded metal sheath. The central structure is made of crystal around a gold finished metal tube. Note the detail of the crystal sphere, the seed that marks the base of the candlestick threading, made using the 'oro sommerso' technique. Entirely handmade, the model is an example of the high quality of the work of the master glassmakers of Barovier & Toso, whose international reputation is rooted in the perpetuation of artisanal traditions since the 13th century.
The model is also available in a 7 or 3 light version in the ordering options at the bottom of this page, as well as in a gold version in 7, 5 or 3 lights under reference 21070150, and in a purple version in 2, 3, 5 or 7 lights under reference 21070153. Barovier&Toso

Venetian crystal chandeliers in classic and contemporary high-end design.

Founded in 1295, Barovier&Toso is one of the oldest and most prestigious Murano lighting factories known to Venice. The first official document mentioning Mr. Barovier, a master glassmaker on the island of Murano, is found at this date. A century and a half later, Barovier made history with the revolutionary invention of an extremely transparent and brilliant material by Angelo Barovier. The factor that makes this formula unique and still used today is the total absence of arsenic and lead in its composition. By a decree of 1455, Angelo Barovier obtained the exclusive right to produce "Cristallo Veneziano" or Venetian crystal. The 20th century was the second high point in the history of this great family thanks to the personality and talent of Ercole, a prolific and gifted designer whose models are still the most beautiful references in the collection today. Barovier&Toso chandeliers are of incomparable elegance and unequalled quality of manufacture.
