Babylon is a large, contemporary 16-light, low-profile chandelier in clear Venetian crystal with black pleated shades. The model features stretched S-shaped arms that extend out from a central vase on two levels, creating a compass rose pattern when viewed from below. The arms are made of clear Venetian crystal, topped with chrome sleeves and cylindrical shades of black pleated fabric. The model is characterised by its low height, ideal for rooms where the ceiling height does not allow the use of traditional chandeliers. The ensemble stands out for its elegant sobriety and the metallic effect of the finishes.
The merger of the Barovier and Toso family glassworks, whose names have been historically linked to the working and trading of Murano glass since the 14th century, has given rise to the company that bears their name, and is synonymous with the best quality of Murano glasswork.
The model is available in 24 lights in the ordering options at the bottom of this page, and also exists in aquamarine colour with white shades in 16 and 24 lights under the reference 21070120. For other dimensions and finishes, please contact us.
Dimensions: the 16-light model is 125cm diameter and 70cm maximum overall height for 14kg, and the 24-light model is 160cm diameter and 70cm maximum overall height for 20kg.
The light source is 16 or 24 E14 bulbs of 60W max each, or LED equivalent, to be purchased separately.

Founded in 1295, Barovier&Toso is one of the oldest and most prestigious Murano lighting factories known to Venice. The first official document mentioning Mr. Barovier, a master glassmaker on the island of Murano, is found at this date. A century and a half later, Barovier made history with the revolutionary invention of an extremely transparent and brilliant material by Angelo Barovier.
