For lovers of a certain sobriety without renouncing elegance, the Classique collection proposes this magnificent Nymphéa chandelier with 8 gold lamps, all in brass with a green-painted metal shade. The model has 8 swan-necked arms that extend from a small central saucer shaped like a water lily and decorated with a small, discreet seed. The arms are extended by a bobèche in the shape of a flower in the process of opening, which allows the lamp holders, disguised as candles, to be fixed, giving the model an authentic air. The candlesticks are surmounted by a conical shade in lacquered metal with a green patina, with rolled gold edges and a white interior to reflect the light effectively. The chandelier is mounted on a brass rod and connected to a stylised ceiling cone, which mirrors the central saucer of the chandelier.
Lucien Gau, heir to a 19th-century Parisian bronze family business, continues to demonstrate his exceptional craftsmanship year after year by restoring, preserving and reproducing lighting fixtures using techniques that are faithful to the period in which they were made.

Lucien Gau designs and manufactures an exceptional range of chandeliers and wall lights in the Dutch, Louis XIII, Louis XIV, Louis XV, Louis XVI, Directoire, Empire and Restoration styles. The craftsmen employed by Lucien Gau work, finish, assemble and patinate the bronzes using the most traditional methods, the heritage of a long tradition of excellence. The bronzes are cast by hand: for each model, the craftsmen model the parts of a lamp, a reference example. For each piece made from this model, a sand mould is made into which the molten bronze is poured. The mould is broken when it is removed and is only used once. This process produces a unique finesse and allows great freedom of design. Once cooled and removed from the mould, each piece undergoes a long process of finishing: deburring, turning, chiseling fine ornamental motifs, polishing and applying the patina are all done by hand and require unique expertise. The most commonly used patinas are old gold, matt pewter, bright gold and antique. Lucien Gau's collections include lights of great elegance and balance of form.
